Prayer
"Prayer is our spiritual life breath."
Welcome to Gateway’s prayer page. We hope it will inspire, challenge and encourage you in your prayer journey.
The practice of prayer is not defined by age or economic status, nor is it defined by gender or social position. Prayer is simply conversation, but not ordinary conversation. It is conversation with a living God. The one who created man in His image and who placed within man the very image of Himself.
Prayer is defined by the heart of the one who bends their knee in surrender. It is not defined by the level of faith they come with just that they come.
Prayer is the pathway to relationship [with God], to freedom, release, restoration, renewal. It is the pathway to healing, wholeness, miracles, deliverance, and holiness. Prayer within a journey of faith is a road not to be ignored or avoided, it is an essential part of our Christian life.
The prayer roads that we travel will not always be the same as others but will lead to the same place – Jesus.
Prayer cannot be ignored, it cannot be relegated down the list of our priorities and it shouldn’t simply be a discipline, although that’s a good place to start.
The length of our prayers will not determine their power, their efficacy, or their ability to be answered, but maybe, the condition of our heart does.
As we pursue Him in our journey of prayer, let’s challenge ourselves to be a people who covet, desire, and yearn for His presence as we pursue Him in this journey, to walk in our humanity within society with purity and holiness.
We have within our reach the opportunity for God, the Creator of the universe, the omnipotent, omnipresent, all powerful King to intercede for us, our situation and those we are praying for.
Let’s reach for His hand and for His help, whoever we are and wherever we go.
Do you want to pray for Gateway but don't know what to pray?
Pray the simple prayer of Isaiah 56:7 ‘I pray that Gateway will be called a house of prayer for all nations.’
Pray that we would be a people who would walk in uprightness and integrity before God and before man; walking in His ways and honouring His name.
Pray we would be a people led by the Spirit, Rms 8:26 “The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us……in accordance with God’s will.”
