There have been some recent developments, read on for important updates…
Clifton Road
As many of you know, our staff offices were unconditionally sold to a purchaser with settlement scheduled for November 2026. This sale enabled Gateway Church to confidently move forward with the purchase of our new home at 490 Grey Street. The agreement also allowed us to continue seeking an alternative purchaser, and the property has been actively marketed over the past 18 months.
We are pleased to share that our trustees have now accepted a lease‑to‑own offer that provides a stronger financial outcome than the original agreement. Reducing our dependence on bank lending has always been a priority, and over time this new arrangement will significantly support that goal.
We expecting to sign all agreements in coming days and the new owners plan to move in during May, and we hope to be in our new home on Grey Street by that time.
Once again, we are grateful for the way God continues to open doors for us, and we feel incredibly blessed.
Staff Office Closure from Monday 16th March
As a result of the above, some work is being carried out at Clifton Road which will mean that we need to close our staff offices for a period of time from Monday 16th of March. Our staff team will be working from various locations but will still be responding to emails and available to meet with you.
Wednesday Morning Prayer 18th and 25th of March
Due to the work being carried out we will need to cancel Wednesday morning prayer on the 18th and 25th of March. This of course doesn't stop you praying from home! We will let you know when we can be together again.
490 Grey Street
The activity levels have really moved to a whole new level! The auditorium ceiling is being installed, plasterers are hard at work, our doors and windows are almost complete.
We do want to let you know that we are entering a time where it is difficult to accurately predict when we will be moving into 490 Grey Street. Not only do we need to give ourselves time to move out of Hamilton Girls High School and our staff offices, but we also want to ensure that we have safe and welcoming home at Grey Street. Having said that we are planning for ‘Moving May’ this will involve some different ways for you to gather on a Sunday, we will certainly keep you informed as we approach this exciting time in the life of Gateway.
Mike
