This Sunday, there is no PM Gathering. Have the night off; reflect, pray, rest, gather, converse – whatever you need to do to remember Easter.

I am an avid reader and lately i have been reading the biography of Steve Jobs – Founder of Apple. One of Jobs’ business mantras was to maintain focus. For Apple that meant deciding what they were going to produce and doing it well rather than diversifying and producing a myriad
of products.

As we head into March most things have started back up at Gateway and many areas are still in need of a helping hand. Maybe it is time for us to be a little like Apple and decide where our focus is going to be for 2012, be it leading a small group or being on the worship team or maybe being involved in some of the activities outlined in this edition of the magazine.

Ecclesiastes 9:10a says “whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might”

We hope that as you read some of the stories you may be inspired and find somewhere that your hand might be just the thing that is needed to further the kingdom and community that we live in.

We will be leaving at 10 am for a full day of playing sport, lying around in the sun like seals, ALOT of swimming  MAYBE some biscuiting behind a boat and then coming back for some dinner and the Sunday night gathering at the House of G.

Don is taking both gatherings; in the morning he’s continuing his new series of ‘People’s Stories’, and at our night gathering focusing on Part 8 of the Abraham series.

We’ll be finished well in time for the rugby, see you there!

Again this year we are keen to partner with Samaritans Purse in their Operation Christmas Child where they distribute Christmas Boxes to children around the world who are victims of war, poverty, famine and disease.

Pick up a box and info you need to put a box together at the Info Desk, and lets help make it a Christmas to remember for some precious kids. Filled boxes can be left at the Info Desk. They will be collected on Sunday 23rd October.

NB: Parents, you can pick up an ‘ideas’ sheet of how you can make this a valuable project to do with your children over the school holidays from the Info Desk.

More important information; it costs between $300 – $400 every week to feed over 200 people. The team does an incredible job to feed everyone at approx $2 a head!

It’s a massive task, and we need your help as a church community to keep it going. Want to contribute?
Meals would GREATLY appreciate the following:

• 6 bags of potatoes
• Bags of carrots
• Any vegetables
• Stacks of tinned fruit
• Custard powder
• Bags of flour
• Bags of sugar

You can drop them off at the back of the church on a Sunday, or at the kitchen or office during the week.
If you’re keen to contribute on a regular basis, collect a Westpac AP form from the info desk.
